Description

Any of several green marbles quarried near Easton in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. These serpentine stones polish well and have been used for interior and exterior decoration. Some brand names for Pennsylvania Green marbles are:

  • Easton marble: a variegated green that is also called frozen green
  • Sylvan Green (or Royal Green): a leaf green serpentine that occurs either mottled or veined
  • Verdolite: a green stone with pink dolomite crystals that was used formerly extensively before the quarries were closed in the early 20th century.
