Quincy granite

Description

A medium-grain, Hornblende and Pyroxene Granite quarried in Quincy, Massachusetts. Quincy granite has a gray background with dark bluish gray and blue-black spots. It polishes to a high gloss. Quincy granite was one of the first stones used for building in the colonies and was used in many notable historic buildings, such as King's Chapel, US Court and Custom House in Boston, Massachusetts.
