Description
A byproduct of turpentine obtained from the sulfate paper pulping process. Sulfate turpentine is primarily produced in the southeastern U.S. It contains about 60-70% alpha pinene, 20-25% beta-pinene and 6-12% other. Sulfate turpentine is considered inferior to gum turpentine for use by artists (Mills and White 1994).
