Uemura's notes | The resultant color would be same when dyed with its bark, and those plum tree with red flower. Preparing the dye bath and mordant bath separately would still have the same result. Mordanting with lime water would shift the color towards yellow brown. In absence of the mordant, the dye compound(s) would not fix to fiber well, and only generate pale red. |
