Description
A general name for any Granite quarried in Wisconsin (Lent 1925). They are used for decoration and monuments.
Examples are:
- Mahogany: medium-grain dark red quarried at Lohrville
- Wisconsin Ruby: coarse-grain deep red quarried at Wausau
- Marinette: fine-grain red with white crystals formerly quarried at Red Granite
- Montello: fine-grain, hard, maroon red quarried at Montello
- Montrose: coarse-grain pink and gray quarried at Middle Inlet
- Pike River Gray: fine-grain, dark gray with white feldspar quarried at Amberg
- Parcher Green: coarse-grain green with white or black quarried at Wausau
- Berlin Rhyolite: fine-grain, purplish-black with pink feldspar quarried at Berlin
