Description
A material used to separate components based on their physical properties, such as size or wavelength. Particle beds (Sand, Diatomaceous earth, Charcoal) or membranes (Cheesecloth, Paper, nylon) are used to remove large particles or impurities from solutions. Light or color filters are used to absorb, minimize, or block specific wavelengths. See records for: Barrier filter, Filter cloth, Filter paper, Membrane filter, Neutral density filter, and Dichroic glass filter.
