Description

A fluorescent dye used to detect proteins. Cycloheptaamylose dansyl chloride (DC-C7A) is a water soluble complex made cyclodextrin hydrate mixed with Dansyl chloride. It forms a bright yellow solid that is soluble in aqueous alkaline solution. With the exception of Albumin, DC-C7A is has good selectivity for most proteins in paint samples, including Casein (Messinger 1992).
