Description
A group of proteolytic enzymes. Chymotrypsin catalyzes the hydrolysis of various proteins, especially casein. It is obtained from the pancreas of oxen and sold as a yellowish white amorphous powder. Chymotrypsin has been used for debridement and other types of cleaning.

Soluble in water and saline solution.
