[DAP]A brand name for a wood filler that was originally composed of wood flour mixed in cellulose nitrate resin.
Originally the name for a wood filler that was composed of wood flour mixed in [[cellulose nitrate]] resin. In the 1990s, DAP trademarked the Plastic Wood name for a [[latex]]-based polymer suspended in [[acetone]] and [[isopropyl alcohol]] solvent.  It is filled with sawdust of wood fibers and may also contain [[limestone]] and [[attapulgite]].

Description

Originally the name for a wood filler that was composed of wood flour mixed in cellulose nitrate resin. In the 1990s, DAP trademarked the Plastic Wood name for a latex-based polymer suspended in acetone and isopropyl alcohol solvent. It is filled with sawdust of wood fibers and may also contain limestone and attapulgite.
